I have reached a small, personal goal on my Instagram page and I wanted to use this as an opportunity for you to get to know me. Here are 5 things I’ve come up with!
My blog is still very young. I’ve only been writing here on my website for 2 months now and I’m still so excited to see where this takes me.
Something I have to repeatedly tell myself is that everything happens in its own time. I cannot compare my blogging progress to anyone else’s – especially not to those that have put 5+ years into their blog and gained thousands upon thousands of followers in the process.
While that is the dream to be able to expand my following as much as possible so I can inspire and encourage other women, it’s just not possible in the short two months I’ve been doing this. I’m still trying to find my niche. I’m working on establishing a schedule and routine. There are lots of hoops and factors I have yet to encounter but from what I’ve found so far I’ve learned to do one major thing – set tiny, attainable goals.
With that said, I’m low key celebrating 100+ followers on my Instagram page for the blog.
You’re probably thinking “wow, that is such a small number, why is she celebrating?” And I get it, that IS such a small number. I’m mostly excited because a lot of the followers are people I don’t know personally which means I’m reaching other women outside my small town! So, I’m celebrating! It’s a small step toward the larger goal.
In celebration, I wanted to take this chance to not re-introduce myself, but to help my readers/followers get to know me! Let’s get into it.
I’m a nurse
After high school I attended a local community college and obtained my certificate in Vocational Nursing. A month later I passed the state exam and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. I still hold my nursing license as a stay at home mom because, who knows, maybe one day I will want to get back into the nursing world.
My husband and I struggled with female infertility for 2.5 years. I worked with a homeopathic chiropractor paired with some fertility boosting acupuncture for 10 months. I was informed it could take 6+ months to start helping but I lost patience and stopped my natural supplements.
A few weeks later I found out I actually became pregnant naturally just before I gave up on the natural supplements. Our bodies truly can function optimally when nourished with proper foods and supplements to fill in gaps in our diets.
I’m a stay at home mom
I’ve always dreamed of being a stay at home mom. Not because I feel like it’s a woman’s place to stay home and raise babies – I believe women should always have the right to make any and all choices related to their career/role in life. My career of choice has always been Mom and Wife because caring form my home and family brings me more joy than any job I’ve ever worked.
I love crafting
I’ve always been a creative person, longing for some kind of crafty/creative outlet. I make seasonal wreaths and sell them for fun! I also enjoy making candles and taking photos!
Small town Texas
I attended the same school kindergarten through twelfth grade in a small town with just under 2,500 residents (i’m withholding my town name for privacy purposes). I knew the names of all my classmates and had pretty much all the same friends through the years. I met and married my high school sweetheart and currently reside in the same small hometown where I plan to enroll my babies one day.
There is something so special about attending a small school district your whole life. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would have been like to have to move schools and make all new friends. I’m forever grateful I got to grow up in this small Texas town!
I want to say a huge THANK YOU to those who have and still follow along with the blog as I continue to work hard on expanding my reach.
As always, be sure to share my blog with the special women in your life. We could all benefit from new recipes and real life talk from time to time!
